Living With Multiple Sclerosis
MS is where our work began. Everything MS lives on MS Views and News, our parent organization, which has empowered people impacted by Multiple Sclerosis for almost two decades.
Recently Diagnosed And Not Sure Where To Begin?
What is Multiple Sclerosis (MS)?
Multiple Sclerosis is a chronic autoimmune disease that impacts the brain, spinal cord and optic nerves, which make up the central nervous system (CNS) and control everything we do. It occurs when the immune system mistakenly attacks the protective covering of nerve fibers (myelin), leading to communication problems between the brain and the rest of the body.
The exact cause of MS is unknown, but we do know that something triggers the immune system to attack the CNS. This interruption of communication signals causes unpredictable symptoms such as mood changes, memory problems, pain, and paralysis.
